I'm currently reading Matthew Henry's Concise Commentary on the Whole Bible. I plan to use this commentary for my 'study' notes in reading the ASV translation of the Bible. I am using the M'Cheyne reading plan.

I am also currently reading J. Vernon McGee's Thru the Bible commentary on 1 and 2 Kings.

I have finished several books for the challenge. Three Treatises by Martin Luther, Out of the Silent Planet by C.S. Lewis, and 1 and 2 Samuel by J. Vernon McGee.

Matthew Henry is new-to-me.

I am sharing quotes on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I am sharing quotes from John Owen and Matthew Henry. When I come across short quotes that are really good, I tend to tweet them.

Favorite quotes so far;

The Word of God is a mirror that reveals us as we really are. ~ J. Vernon McGee
"And how could we endure to live and let time pass if we were always crying for one day or one year to come back--if we did not know that every day in a life fills the whole life with expectation and memory and these are that day?" ~ C.S. Lewis
The authority of God's word is greater than the capacity of our intellect to grasp it. ~ Martin Luther
When sin lets us alone we may let sin alone; but as sin is never less quiet than when it seems to be most quiet, and its waters are for the most part deep when they are still, so ought our contrivances against it to be vigorous at all times and in all conditions, even where there is least suspicion. ~ John Owen
It shows great hardness of heart to be more concerned about our sufferings than our sins. ~ Matthew Henry
